At first, the company was named 'UberCab' or some might call it Uber taxi and it was founded by Travis Kalanick together with his partner Garret Camp.

Some people might get confused with Uber being a taxi service company that provides transportation to its users. Instead, they are responsible for connecting the users who own the smartphones with the Uber driver personally.
