Who is Michael Dell?

Well, Michael Dell happens to be the founder of Dell Technologies and he is a graduate of the University of Texas. The company used to be called PC's limited and Michael has dreamt of becoming a doctor before this however due to his deep passion for computing he is willing to leave behind his ambition to build his own business empire.

Even though the brand is considered well-known today, PC's limited started small and Michael was merely doing it as a part-time job back in 1984. The money that he invested in his business was $1000.

What amazes some entrepreneurs out there is the fact that Michael was able to gain $80,000 in revenue in just the second half of the year. Afterward, he decided to leave his full-time job and focuses 100% on his business and as time goes by, his company started to gain more popularity.

It was then, that Michael decided to change the company from PC's limited to Dell Computer Corporation and finally Dell Inc.

When it comes to the decision of whether Michael should work full-time at PC's limited, he is more than willing to quit his studies at the University of Texas and pursue his dream. He used most of his valuable time and focus on his company PC's limited and business.

It was by far one of the hardest decisions that he has to make but at the end of the day, it really paid off.

2. Give More and Do Charity Work

Dell has given so much to the public and it has helped many of those in need thereby improving society. Some of the contributions include sponsoring the cost of treatment of the unfortunate kids out there as well as helping the victim of the Tsunami in South Asia back in 2004.

Not just that, but the company has also given $60 million USD to the University of Texas.

3. Diligence and Hard Work in our Passion

Michael Dell is someone who is very hard-working especially when it comes to something he just really loves to do. He does in-depth research regarding computer stuff ever since he was at school and that was the moment of time when he realized it was the field that he is passionate about.

Ever since he bought his first computer Apple, he opens up the computer to see the inside and how it works. After that, he manages to assemble back the parts, and his hard work definitely paid off. He did this when he was only 15 and back then there wasn't much tutorial-like nowadays.

4. Ignore all the Negativities

In 2003 when Dell Corporation became Dell Inc., there were a lot of ideas and words going around about the bad things happening at Dell. Despite the negativities, it has not stopped Michael from pursuing his dreams and making his ideas work.

He kept on going and pushing himself to the limits.

5. Expand the Service and Benefit from The Business

Aside from focusing on his main business working at Dell, he also improved his services by exploring new products in IT such as servers, storage, PDA, MP3, laptops, television, cameras, and many more. He thought of many different types of products that will sell in the market which is something that most of us should do.

Because of that, it is not surprising that Dell Inc has once been listed as the best computer company in the world sitting at 41 out of 500 Fortune Companies in 2011. The best part is Michael Dell once became the richest man in the world in 2011 as listed in Forbes.
