Golden Boy - Most Expensive Burger in The World

When you talk about burgers, it is one of the most favorite dishes in the Western parts of the world that became so popular that everywhere in the world, you would see this delicate and juicy burger.

You can see burgers being sold at every restaurant out there and it seems that even stalls or food trucks sell this burger on the street at an affordable price. However, some of you might feel contempt to buy it if the price is a whopping €5000.

You heard that right. This is the most expensive burger in the world as of now and it is currently being made in the Netherlands and being sold by a conglomerate company, Remia. The good news is that the company is contributing some of the sales to the local food bank to help those in need.

Known as the "Golden Boy", this burger has been the creative idea of Robbert Jan de Veen, the owner of the Dutch restaurant, De Daltons.
In one interview, Robbert Veen said that he wishes to offer help to those who are heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is definitely something that he has to offer to those who are in dire situations which some of us should do.

Before this, the record for the most expensive burger in the world was held by a restaurant in Oregon, United States in 2011. The price of the burger at the time was $5000 USD with a heavyweight of 352kg. I wouldn't imagine someone finishing the burger all by themselves.

When he was surfing the web, Robbert found the record of the world's most expensive burger at the time and despite feeling it to be cool, Robber decided to produce his very own burger that has a higher price tag than the previous record holder. Not just that, but it can easily be eaten by one person alone.

If you hold such record, you should make a burger that can be eaten by one person. Because that will be considered the most expensive burger in the world - Robbert Veen

Robbert added that most restaurants at this time are closed and there is no competition during this pandemic. Even though takeaway restaurants still operate, Robbert still feels pressured.

I felt sad seeing the misery of many people and the state of the restaurant industry being gloomy, so I decided to produce the most expensive burger in the world and donate the whole sale of this burger to charities to be given to the society

This burger has managed to receive 1000 orders and has been distributed to those in need. In order to make the recipe for the Golden Boy, it took Robbert more than 5 months and it involved a few experiments using many types of ingredients which explains its high price.

In fact, on the historic day when the burger was sold, Robbert spend almost 9 hours preparing this delicacy.

This expensive burger comprises bread that is produced by using the Dom Perignon champagne and covered with gold leaf, Japanese Wagyu beef, Alaska king crab, 100% Iberico Vintage Jamon Joselito Bellota, white truffles as well as the Beluga caviar.

To top it all off, it indulges with the most expensive sauce out there made from civet coffee, Rare Cask Maccalan whiskey, and smoked mayonnaise saffron made from a duck's egg.

Since the buns are covered with golden leaf, your finger will also be left with gold as soon as you finish the burger - Robbert

The most utter respect was given to the Royal Dutch Food and Beverage Association, Robert Willemse to be the first person to taste the succulent Golden Boy.
As a comparison with the previous record holder of the most expensive burger in the world, Golden Boy is a lot smaller and can be eaten easily using two hands like most of us usually would.

Golden Boy was officially sold on 28 June 2021 and Robbert is looking for the perfect buyer for the second Golden Boy.

So if you feel for something luxurious and juicy then this burger will be perfect to satisfy your cravings. But if your taste buds are tingling for excitement then you need to order 2 weeks ahead with a deposit of $750 USD.
