Is The Story of Area 51 Real?

The existence of Area 51 has caused a spark of questions in the outside world. Not just that but it has also led to many conspiracy theories due to the mystery and secrecy of that particular area.

Area 51 can also be seen as one of the most unique places mankind has ever created. It was to the extent that some people believed this area is infested with aliens which we ourselves are not able to prove this theory.

Area 51 refers to a location on the map and a very popular base of the United States Airforce. It is situated at the Groom Lake which is a dried-up lake in the Nevada Desert and 25 miles due north of Las Vegas.

Everything that occurs inside is a secret and there are many warning billboards for the public to stay away from the vicinity. On top of that, there are also electronic monitoring and armed guards to keep the place safe from any intrusions.

To know whether the existence of Area 51 is real or not we must first understand its background.

What is Area 51?

This particular area is strictly off-limit to the public and is constantly under 24-hour surveillance. During the Second World War between 1939 to 1945, the United States Army Air Corps(USAAC) uses the base as a shooting site from the air.

Area 51 is also located close to other limited-area military bases like the Nevada Test Site which happens to be the test site of the United States' nuclear weapons from the 1950s until the 1990s as well as the Nevada Test and Training Range.

The whole area covers more than 2.9 million acres of land. According to the United States army, Area 51 comprises a flexible, realistic, and multidimensional combat zone to undergo tactical warfare and further training.

Why Is It Called Area 51?

This base is not always known as Area 51 despite the United States government using the name Area 51 referring to the place several times in the past. It is also not the original name of the location since the base used to be called Homey Airport or Groom Lake in documentation during the Cold War.

Regardless of that, the base is now being referred to as Area 51 for all meanings and purposes including in the official modern record. But to this day no one knows for sure why the place is called Area 51.

The only thing that the public knows is that the United States government had referred to the place as it is since the 1960s. The Central Intelligence Agency(CIA) also acknowledged the existence of Area 51 in 2013.

However, there are still many theories behind this name and some say it is based on the grid naming system by the US Atomic Energy Commission that made the plan for that region.

This is similar to the mystery of why the name Area 51 was chosen from the start.

Purpose of Area 51

Area 51 was built as a research facility with regard to a top-secret high altitude plane, the U-2 and SR-71 Blackbird plane by the US. Even though it was opened in 1955, its existence was only confirmed by the CIA on August 2013.

4 months after this exposure, another miraculous thing occurred in that President Obama became the first US president to mention Area 51 openly.

Interesting Facts On Area 51

1. Unlike other high-secure facilities, there are no fences, walls, or even wires surrounding Area 51. 

For such a facility to be guarded heavily by the US army, many people thought that this area will have some sort of physical barrier to ensure that there will not be any intrusions.

In reality, there is no such fence guarding the whole place or anything that might hinder the public from entering despite several parts of the area being guarded by perimeters. But this does not mean that it will be a wise move to barge into Area 51 since there are magnetic sensors all around on top of the control towers to shoot anyone when necessary.

2. Area 51 on Google Maps

Area 51 might seem like a mysterious place that even the public does not know what happens inside but it is present on Google Maps. Google Maps might be one of the private companies that are allowed to map the base and the public can also see it in high resolution.

Not just that but Google has also released a time-lapse on the development of the base for several years and this took everyone by surprise in that the US government actually allowed it.

3 Daily Air Travel

 

You might be wondering about the daily life of workers in Area 51. There have been reports showing that only some people working in Area 51 have their own quarters there whereas the majority of them will use the airspace as their means of commuting to work.

It can be said as one of the strangest ways for their daily routine and full of secrets in the world. There are also plane hangers specifically for workers of Area 51 in the facility with limited terminals on the other side which is McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

What is more interesting is that those planes use secret calls called Janet which might just be the most secret airplane company in the world.

It is also not a company registered under the said name but it was merely a name given to the airplane company when they are in public airspace.

Area 51 and UFO

Since the 1950s, the locals and visitors in the area have witnessed secret planes made from technologies they have never seen before flying at top speed as well as performing unusual movements in the air. These events have made them question what they have actually seen.

Considering that the development of these prototypes is a big secret to the country and their appearance is rare to occur, these made the public misunderstand what is truly happening. This is to the extent that some people thought that the planes came from another planet.

It is not surprising if this area is linked to the existence of aliens or UFOs in Area 51. To this day, Area 51 still remains to be a research facility and performed secret tests for the US military.

However, in 2013, there are several parties revealed the true conspiracy around Area 51 which is related to the corporate misconduct of Lockheed Martin in the development of the U-2 plane as well as employers that neglected the workers' welfare.

There are a few lawful acts claiming that workers in Area 51 are exposed to dangerous chemicals that are not disposed of accordingly and at least two people died because of it. What made matters worst is that the US government refused to reveal the chemicals being used in the facility causing the casualties.

The tight secret of Area 51 makes the whole situation more complicated.

Area 51 still remains a place full of secrets and mystery and constantly raises questions to all parties. But the openness of the US government to admit the existence of such a place aside from explaining that the facility is for military use has answered the little doubts of the public with regard to the place.

It is not impossible that there are also other facilities in the country that operates similarly to Area 51.
