7. Hegigio Gorge Pipeline Bridge (393 Meters)

In this list, this bridge might just be the most unique one yet since it was not built for typical transportation use but instead for oil delivery pipes. So we can definitely see from above the presence of wires crossing a very steep gorge.

At a height of 393 meters, this bridge is the 7th highest bridge in the world as well as the tallest bridge for a pipeline. It is a hanging bridge that crosses 470 meters on top of the Hegigio River.

It is used solely for the transportation of petroleum from the oil rig in southeast Maranda at the high areas of south Papua New Guinea.

6. Qingshui River Bridge (406 Meters)

Qingshui River Bridge or also known as Qingshuihe Bridge is a hanging bridge located in Guizhou, China. This bridge is measured at 406 meters and stands on top of the Qingshuihe River and is the third-highest hanging bridge in the world.

Not just that but it is also one of the longest bridges out there with a distance of 1130 meters in length. The bridge was built to improve the transportation system in this region and shorten the journey distance between Weng'an and Guiyang from 160 km to only 38 km.

The bridge was opened to be used on 31 December 2015.

5. Yachi River Bridge (434 Meters)

The Yachi River Bridge is a cable-supported bridge also situated in Guizhou, China. It is the fifth tallest bridge in the world and also one of the longest cable bridges with a distance of 800 meters.

This bridge is supported by 2 main towers. The West tower is at a height of 258.2 meters whereas the eastern tower is at a slightly lower height of 243.2 meters. The bridge that opened in 2016 crosses the Yachi River between Qianxi in Bijie and Qingzhen in Guiyang.

4. Jin'an Bridge (461 Meters)

The Jin'an Bridge is a hanging bridge that was fully completed in 2020 situated in Lijiang, Yunnan, China. The bridge stands at a height of 461 meters and became the 4th tallest bridge in the world.

The bridge is part of the G4216 Chengdu - Lijiang Highway that crosses on top of the Jinsha River. The bridge was initially constructed in 2016 and the main bridge for this one is 1,386 meters in length making it one of the longest bridges ever to be built.

3. Puli Bridge (485 Meters)

Puli Bridge is another hanging bridge located nearby Xuanwei, Qujing, China. The bridge which has a height of 485 meters is the third-highest bridge in the world. This bridge is part of the Hangzhou - Ruili G56 Highway which was opened in August 2015.

The bridge and highway have reduced the time journey from Xuanwei to the border of Guizhou from 4 hours to merely 1 hour.

The Sidu River Bridge is another hanging bridge that stretches for 1,222 meters and crosses the Sidu River Valley close to Yesanguan in Badong, Hubei Province, China. With a height of 496 meters, you can be sure to feel frightened walking along this bridge.

With a height of 565 Meters, the Duge bridge is the highest bridge in the world. Duge is a bridge supported by cables and is situated on the borders of Guizhou and Yunnan.

The bridge was opened to be used in 2016 with the bridge crossing on top of the Beipan River. The bridge is part of the Hangzhou - Ruili G56 Highway that connects Quijing and Liupanshui.
