There are many animals on land that roams the Earth which is incredibly tall. Back in prehistoric times, animals were seen to be much larger and taller in size compared to today. Some of them use it to their advantage to scare smaller creatures while some can stand tall to reach for their food.

7. Horse
There are many horses that can be found around the world but the Shire horse in particular is among the tallest of them all. The tallest shire horse ever recorded was 7 feet 2 inches (229 cm) name Sampson.
The typical height is measured up to what's known as its withers which is the area between the neck and the shoulder. But most riding horses out there are usually 5 feet(150 cm) in height.

Camels are known to be incredibly tall and lived in the desert. But the dromedary camel or its other name, the Arabian camel is among the tallest ones of its species. Unlike its other family members that have 2 humps, this one has only 1.

Moose are the tallest ones among the deer species and it is humongous in size weighing around 1,800 pounds and 7 feet 6 inches in height. Alaskan however is a much bigger size when it comes to all kinds of moose.

A brown bear is one ferocious creature and you will definitely not come any close to one. When standing on four legs they are usually around 5 feet in height but they are much taller when standing on two legs.
Brown bears or sometimes known as Grizzly bears are usually found in North America and some parts of Eurasia. Kodiak bears are the largest bears in the world standing up to 10 feet tall on hind legs and weighing 1,500 pounds.

Not only are ostriches the third tallest animal in the world but it is also the world's tallest bird. They also run fast too moving at a speed of 40 miles/hour making it quite easy for them to catch up to you.
Ostrich also lays the biggest eggs in the world weighing up to 3 pounds. Ostriches can reach a height of 7 - 10 feet in height and can be found in many parts of the world.

There are many elephants living in Asia and Africa as they are generally big in size. However, with the alarming increase of poachers worldwide, the world witnesses a decrease in its population on top of elephants reproducing at a much slower rate.

Its scientific name is Giraffa camelopardalis is the tallest animal in the world as the average height for them is about 14 - 19 feet in height. They are well known for having long necks which can grow up to 7 feet in length.
The tallest giraffe to ever be recorded will be George as he stood 20 feet tall. Male giraffes tend to be much taller than their counterparts.
