The stamps were displayed at the 1899 Manchester Philatelic Exposition and a buyer bought one of them as part of the Ferrari collection for the price of $2,576,000 making it the fifth most expensive stamp in the world.

3. Benjamin Franklin Z Grill ($3,000,000)

The Benjamin Franklin 1868 stamp features a Z Grill pattern with a horizontal z-shaped indentation with only 2 units available today. One of them can be found in the New York Public Library's Miller Collection.
