7. Bugatti Chiron (420 kph)
Coming at the bottom of our list will be the Bugatti Chiron which was introduced in 2016 and was the replacement for the Bugatti Veyron which stopped production after 10 years. Chiron can be said as one of the most powerful and exclusive super sports cars in the world ever produced by Bugatti.
The car was named after Louis Chiron, a Bugatti driver in the European Championship in the early 1930s. It ultimately inspired Bugatti to commemorate the driver by naming the car after him.
Bugatti Chiron has the fastest recorded speed of 420 kph(261 mph). Aside from that, it also features a W16 quad-turbo engine which was updated and capable of producing 1,184 horsepower.
6. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (431 kph)
Before Hennessey and Koenigsegg dominated the list of fastest cars in the world, most of the car models of Bugatti has top the list. Unlike other competitors, Bugatti benefited from the investment of time and sources from its holding company, Volkswagen.
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport was a limited edition supercar with only 30 units ever produced. This car features 184 more horsepower and aerodynamic traits that far surpasses the standard Veyron with only 1,001 horsepower.

5. Hennessey Venom GT (435 kph)
The Hennessey Venom GT broke the official record made by the Bugatti Veyron with a recorded speed of 435 kph(270.4 mph). This supercar based on Lotus features a twin-turbo 7.0 liter V8 engine and 1,244 horsepower.

Despite the Guinness Book of World Records recognizing the speed recorded by this car, it received various criticism from many people. This is due to the recorded speed not being based on the average of two attempts in the opposite direction.
4. Koenigsegg Agera RS (447 kph)
Following the success of Agera R, Koenigsegg introduced the Agera RS model in 2017. It ultimately made it the fastest car in the world with a top speed of 447 kph(278 mph). Despite this record only being held for less than 2 years. the Agera Rs still dominated certain benchmarks in the automotive industry.
This car model features the same engine as its predecessor which is a V8 5 liter with twin turbo charge. It is capable of producing 1,350 horsepower which is 210 more than the Koenigsegg Agera R.
Unlike Bugatti, the Agera RS is not produced in limited edition as a symbolic win for its achievement. But all the 25 car units produced come in different colors and power production.

The current holder of the fastest car in the world will be the American SSC Tuatara with a handsome top speed of 431 kph(331 mph). Well, that is according to the original claim by Shelby SuperCar(SSC) in 2020.
However, a Youtuber that goes by the name Schmee150 considered it a hoax and decided to take it to the test on the State Route 160 in Nevada. Things even took a turn when SSC themselves acknowledge that the top speed did not reach what was originally claimed at 331 mph or even 301 mph on October 2020.
Nevertheless, the car did manage to break the global record by reaching a top speed of 474 kph(295 mph). The car was named after a New Zealand reptile that featured a modern and elegant design. The car is powered by a flat-plane crank 5.9-liter motor V8 turbo engine and can generate 1,750 horsepower.
