This massive 40 sqkm airport is known as the George Bush Intercontinental Airport which made its first public appearance in 1969. You can travel to any location you desired around the world except for Antarctica.

Ever since United Airlines and Continental Airlines merged in 2010, it has served as a key hub for the airline. Inside the airports, there are five runaways, five terminals(A, B, C, D, E) as well as an on-site hotel for visitors to spend the night.

MCO is the unique code for Orlando International Airport which originates from the previous use of McCoy Air Force Base until 1975. This airport has a vast area of 47 sqkm and has been operational since 1981.

However, this is perhaps one of the few airports that make good use of its highly spacious area. It has a main terminal which is separated into A and B which connects with the side air terminal that operates both international and domestic flights.

4. Washington Dulles International Airport (53 Sqkm)

Also known as Dulles International Airport, it is one of the biggest airports in the world with an area size of 53 sqkm. This airport started its operation back in 1962 and became the first hub of United Airlines.

Dulles Airport serves the people in Washington D.C. and has 3 terminals in which 1 of which is for international travel while the other 2 are for domestic.

3. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (70 Sqkm)

The Dallas/Forth Worth International(DWF) Airport made its first opening in 1974 and it is the main airline travel for the American Airlines A1G(AAL) hub. Dallas airport is comprised of 5 terminals inside with A being specifically used for AAL.

Aside from that, there are 7 runways that are owned by this airport. Interestingly enough the DWF airport is one of the airports in the world with four paved runways that can be used for more than 4,000 meters in distance.

Other than that, it is the second busiest airport in the US based on the number of traffic it receives.

2. Denver International Airport (140 Sqkm)

Unlike any other city in the world, the Denver International Airport(DIA) occupies around 1/3 of Denver city's area. The airport land area has been set at 140 sqkm and it is the second biggest airport in the world and the biggest one in the US.

This airport has been operational since 1995 and became the main flight hub for United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Southwest Airlines(LUV). Denver Airport has only 1 terminal that connects various domestic and international flights.

1. King Fahd International Airport (776 Sqkm)

Standing at the top of the list will be King Fahd International Airport with a huge size area of 776 sqkm. Despite it being the world's biggest airport, it is not however the busiest one out there.

It is the main hub for Saudia Arabian Airlines, Flynas SaudGuld Airlines, and Aramco Aviation. This giant airport has 3 terminals with the main one being specifically for international and domestic flights as well as the Aramco terminal that is operated by Saudi Aramco.

The last one is the Royal terminal which is only for the Saudi Arabian royal families, honored guests, and government officials.
