However, some people might not know that pyramids come in different sizes and shape(spherical, cube or cone) and is not limited to the Giza Pyramid alone.

7. Pyramid of The Sun (Mexico)

One of the most mysterious and biggest structures of its kind will be the Pyramid of the Sun which was built in the ancient city of Teotihuacan. It was believed to have been built in 200 AD and it was found along the Avenue of the Dead between the Pyramid of the Moon and Ciudadela.

The Pyramid of the Sun is part of the huge complex of the city right underneath Cerro Gordo. Both the pyramids here are considered very sacred with respect to the birth of the Gods of the Sun and Moon.

Teotihuacan is said to be the first city in Mesoamerica and was home to more than 100,000 people.

6. Qin Shi Huang Tomb

This amazing tomb is the resting place of the first Great Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. Qin Shi Huang was the first to unite all provinces in China and built one of the most famous landmarks in the world, the Great Wall of China and the Lingqu Canal.

The structure was built around 246 - 208 BC and this tomb is filled with 8,000 clay soldiers together with horses. The horse carriages were believed to protect those who were in the afterlife.

Some even considered the Qin Shi Huang tomb to be insanely remarkable and this soldier city was recognized as the eight wonders of the world.

5. Bent Pyramid

The first pyramid that was built in Dahshur necropolis will be the Bent Pyramid as it features a special and unique appearance. The pyramid was built in 2600 BC and during the times of Pharaoh Sneferu, the pyramid was said to reach a certain height at an inclination of 54°.

Some even thought that the pyramid will collapse by its own weight but miraculously it still stands today. The sides of the pyramid were modified to allow it to stand safely. This pyramid is the oldest and best-preserved structure in Dahshur Necropolis as it retains most of its natural outer and inner parts, unlike other pyramids.

4. Red Pyramid

This tall pyramid was built by Pharaoh Sneferu, the father of Pharaoh Khufu, and happens to be the second Sneferu pyramid. The Red Pyramid is said to have been built due to the disappointment of Pharaoh Sneferu in making the Ben Pyramid.

This theory was proven by the similarity in the designs of both pyramids. The Red Pyramid has an inclination of 43° with an angle that was modified on top of the Bent Pyramid. It was believed to have been built around 2613 - 2589 BC.

3. The Luxor Las Vegas

Despite this regular pyramid being highly related to historical monuments and not a center of a modern resort, its design has been an inspiration to the beacon sign of Las Vegas and the posh hotel known as The Luxor.

This glass-pyramid-shaped hotel is worth $375 million and it happens to be the tallest building in Las Vegas when it was opened. It took inspiration from the Great Giza Pyramid and is measured 1/3 of its size.

2. Khafre Pyramid

Pharaoh Khafre followed his father's footsteps, Pharaoh Khufu and built his tomb right next to the Great Khufu Pyramid as part of the Giza Necropolis. Several burial spaces inside the pyramid are yet to be completed as it is connected by pathways made out of granite and alabaster.

The Khafre Pyramid has two separate doors. One of them is on the surface while the other is located 38 feet at the sides. But both doors are located in the northern part of the pyramid.

1. Khufu Pyramid

Khufu, the Great Giza Pyramid is the largest pyramid in the world based on its height. It was built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu in Egypt and it is perhaps one of the most renowned ones out there.

It is also the oldest among the seventh wonders of the world and is still standing to this day. The whole pyramid is comprised of approximately 2.3 million blocks of rock. However, due to many years of harsh weather, its surface has started to roughen out.
